Once the Stripe account is set up and linked to the Jisti Application, you will see additional options to help you accept Credit Card payments, in your Sessions and Invoice pages.
This article discusses the following topics:
Accepting credit card payments for sessions
Updating an invoice as paid manually
Accepting credit card payments for sessions
On the sessions page, you will now see the ‘Pay’ dropdown button available against all unpaid sessions. If you click on this button, you may see either 2 or 3 options.
If a session is not invoiced, you will see the options: ‘Pay with Credit Card’, ‘Generate Invoice’ and ‘Mark As Paid’. In this case, the ‘Pay with Credit Card’ option will be disabled, as you must first generate an invoice to make on online payment using Jisti. In such a case, you can click on the Generate Invoice option to generate the invoice. Click here for more information on how to generate an invoice for a session.
Once the session is invoiced, you will see the options ‘Pay with Credit Card’ and ‘Mark As Paid’. You can click on the ‘Pay with Credit Card’ option to be taken to the Jisti Invoice Payment page.
Alternately, you can click on the ‘Pay with Credit Card’ button on the Invoice page to be taken to the Jisti Invoice Payment Page. Click on the ‘Proceed to payment’ button on this page.
You will be taken to a page where you can type in the credit card details for your client, and can process the payment. You can view the payment summary on this page, including the amount to be charged and the invoice number that is being processed.
On completion of the payment, you will be taken to the receipt page, where you will see a confirmation message with a receipt number at the top of the page. Please note that the ‘Amount Due’ and ‘Amount Paid’ on the invoice will not be changed, as this is not the receipt, but is the generated invoice itself. The client will be emailed a receipt from Stripe shortly after a successful payment.
Once the payment is completed, you can see that the session and the invoice come up as paid in the Jisti Application, and you can see the Stripe receipt number on the invoice.
Updating an invoice as paid manually
In the unlikely event that a client was charged successfully from Stripe, and this is not reflected in the Jisti application, you can update the invoice and the related sessions to mark them as paid manually.
To do so, you should go to the invoice page, click on the down arrow next to the ‘Pay with Credit Card’ button. This will show you two options, of which, you should select the ‘Mark as Paid’ option.
On clicking this, a form will appear, with the option for you to optionally enter the Receipt Reference Number. You can then click the Save button, which will save this receipt number, update the invoice as paid, and update all the sessions on the invoice as paid.
You can then see the status of the invoice is paid.
